Hi! My name is Kat and I am a Nightscape photographer and Mountain Leader from Snowdonia in North Wales.

I studied photography and videography in college in my teenage years and I learnt how to process black and white film in the dark room, however once I left I then pursued a career in Accountancy. But my journey as a photographer really began in 2020 when i moved to Snowdonia and qualified as a Mountain Leader. The skills that i acquired taught me how to navigate the mountains of Snowdonia at night and from here my confidence grew. I found a deep love for the outdoors and nature, and had developed a fascination with the night sky. I knew when I purchased my first ever DSLR camera it was the night sky that was going to get all my attention.

I am usually found roaming the mountains of Snowdonia at night, with my camera gear and tent, seeking out one off and unique compositions. But when I can, I love to travel further afield. I have embarked on some amazing adventures such as hiking to Everest base camp in Nepal, hiking the Salkantay route to Machu Picchu in Peru and climbing the highest mountains in the north African Atlas range and the Dolomites in Italy. I have also spent a few weeks self-driving around Bolivia in a pickup truck, photographing the night sky and wild camping in the Bolivian Altiplano. I'm not one to shy away from colder climates and have spent some time wild camping in Norway in the winter snow. In March 2023 i embarked on a 100km hike in northern Sweden, through the arctic circle in 7 days as part of a charity fundraiser where i also managed to capture the stunning sights of the Aurora Borealis.

I have set up my business 'Adventure Nightscapes' to provide night sky photography expertise with some adventure thrown in to!
