Kat Lawman female astrophotography astro snowdonia wales

Llyn Dinas, wrapped in midnight blue,
A sky of pinks and purples too 💖

The mountains watched, the waters gleamed,
And Wales felt just like somewhere dreamed ✨

The northern lights danced overhead,
While I nearly joined the lake instead 😂

Some places stay with you, wherever you roam,
And some places, somehow, just feel like home 💜

Sometimes the universe puts on a spectacular show and you're too busy cooking chicken to notice 🍗😂

Here's one from November 2024 in the meantime 🩷

..all alerts now switched on- including brain 😆🙏

Happy Aurora season everyone 💜❤️💚

🪐 SATURN — ATTEMPT NO. 1 🔭

Well, it’s not exactly NASA quality, but LOOK! IT’S SATURN!! 😂

I bought my Sky-Watcher Classic 200P Dobsonian for group observing. It’s completely manual and untracked, but naturally I decided I was getting a picture of Saturn through it anyway 🤣🪐🔭

No planetary camera. No tracking. Just determination and a spectacularly out-of-focus video of Saturn hurtling across the screen while I tried to keep up.

The result? A slightly questionable, mildly blurry blob with rings.

BUT IT’S MY BLOB WITH RINGS 🪐❤️

Plenty to learn, lots to improve, and hopefully by attempt number 47 I’ll have something a little sharper…

For now, I’m ridiculously pleased with my wonky little Saturn 😂

Attempt 1: Completed. ✅
Saturn: Identifiable. ✅
Technique: Needs work. 🤣

Another little cabin beneath a very big universe ✨🌌

One more from our night at @llwynonnguesthouse_glamping , with the Milky Way stretching above the rooftops 💖

Imagine spending your evening here under a sky full of stars 😍

Another from the Sony a7III astro mod 📸

Clear skies, cosy cabins ✨
