Learn night photography in Snowdonia We will be starting the evening with an uphill hike, will be a gentle hike for about a 45 mins/1 hour or so...so a level of fitness is also required for my courses This tour is for all levels of photographer but it would be preferable for you to have a basic understanding of how to use your camera in manual mode (ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture) The aim of the course is to photograph the milky way over Tryfan, in the Ogwen Valley The course will be fully guided by a qualified Mountain Leader (myself) throughout the duration of the evening and i will aim to get everyone back to their cars before 1am Sunday morning. Things i will cover: Planning to shoot the stars/milky way- useful apps and tools Choosing the best settings to photograph the stars Manually focusing in the dark- tips and tricks Getting the best composition Light painting - using head torches and other light to illuminate the scene Equipment you will need: A fairly new DSLR/Mirrorless camera Wide angle lens of at 28mm or wider with aperture of F2.8 or wider Sturdy Tripod Memory Card Head torch and spare batteries Drinking water and snacks Camera batteries Intervalometer / shutter release (useful) Warm clothes (inc hats & gloves) & hiking boots Optional Extras: Dress/outfit/costume- should you wish to be the subject of a night photograph (time depending) Light painting resources Hot flask (be mindful that you will need to also carry these in your rucksack to) Clear skies are preferred but the weather here is Snowdonia is not guaranteed- the course will go ahead as planned and adapted as needed- in the event of heavy rain/wind the course may be postponed. Locations may be amended at short notice due to adverse weather. Insurance and transportation is not included Post processing tuition (photoshop/lightroom/stacking programs) is not included in the course, however i will advise on relevant tutorials
